Elara Brands, a social mission-driven producer of food handling gloves for restaurants and non-commercial foodservice operators, announced a new partnership with Feeding America® - the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization. Through Elara's One Case • One Meal® giving program, the company will donate a minimum of 750 thousand meals* to Feeding America in 2018 to help people struggling with hunger.
Elara® was launched in 2011 with the mission of fighting hunger embedded in its business model. For each case of an Elara product purchased, the company donates a meal to a local food bank. Elara has helped provide more than 2 million meals through its One Case • One Meal program to date. "Our partnership with Feeding America will enable Elara to further expand our meal giving program," said Dan Grinberg, Elara's founder and president. "1 in 8 people face hunger in our country, a mind-boggling statistic that we want to help change."
"We are grateful for Elara's partnership with Feeding America in our mission to end hunger," said Nancy Curby, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships & Operations at Feeding America. "Food insecurity affects 41 million people in America, including 13 million children. Giving models such as Elara's are helping to make a difference."
"We are proud of the more than 100,000 meals Elara and Shake Shack have helped provide to our designated member food bank, City Harvest, since our partnership began," said Jeff Amoscato, Vice President of Supply Chain & Menu Innovation at Shake Shack. "Elara is a vendor that shares Shake Shack's mission to 'Stand for Something Good.'"
